Advertiser Terms

Plain-language terms for NorthFolk advertisers.

We wrote these in plain English on purpose. No legalese, no surprises — just a clear explanation of what you're signing up for, how billing works, and how to cancel if you ever need to. Questions? Email us anytime at hello@northfolk.guide.

Your Spot

When you subscribe, you're reserving one category-exclusive advertising spot on a specific NorthFolk Community Card route. That means no other business in your category will appear on that card while your subscription is active. Your spot is yours — and no competitor can claim it from you.

Your spot is tied to a specific route (for example, Burns Lake) and a specific category (for example, Real Estate). If you'd like to advertise in a different area or under a different category, just reach out and we'll sort it out together.

Monthly Billing

Your subscription is billed monthly and renews automatically on the same date each month. You'll receive a payment receipt from Stripe with every renewal. There are no annual contracts or hidden fees — it's month-to-month, always.

Production Deadlines

Each community card goes to print twice a month. For your ad to appear in a particular mailer, it needs to be designed and approved before our print deadline. We'll walk you through this during onboarding and our team will always give you a heads-up if you're cutting it close.

As a general guide: ads approved by the first Thursday of the month go into the following month's first mailer. Ads approved by the second Thursday go into the following month's second mailer.

Your ad runs as-is every mailer — you don't need to do anything between runs. Whenever you'd like to make a change, just reach out and we'll take care of it. Revisions are always free.

How to Cancel

Life changes, businesses evolve — we completely get it. When you're ready to move on, just drop us an email at hello@northfolk.guide and we'll take care of everything from there.

Here's exactly what happens: one more billing cycle runs after you cancel — one more payment, two more deliveries to your community — and then your subscription closes with no further charges.

If a payment came out recently, that month finishes as normal and the following month will be your last. Either way, the math is always the same: one more payment, two more runs, done. No surprises, no ambiguity.

We love working with local businesses and we hope it's a long and rewarding run — but when you're ready to move on, we'll make sure it ends just as well as it started.

Refunds

We don't issue refunds for the current billing period once payment has been processed — but you'll never be charged beyond your final 30-day notice window. Once we've confirmed your cancellation date, that's the last charge you'll ever see from us.

Questions

We're real people and we're easy to reach. Email hello@northfolk.guide and we'll get back to you promptly. If something in here isn't clear, just ask — we'd rather talk it through than have you guess.
